SAM SCHMIDT PARALYSIS FOUNDATION ENHANCING QUALITY OF LIFE
Message of Thanks from ThinkFirst

SSPF is committed to curing paralysis.  Until that day comes, the Foundation supports organizations that benefit the disabled.  We received this message of thanks for a recent Quality of Life Grant to the organization ThinkFirst.

From Nena Ray at ThinkFirst: "The success of the ThinkFirst National Injury Prevention program lies in its most powerful prevention and education strategy: the individuals known as Voices for Injury Prevention (VIPs). VIPs are individuals that have sustained a traumatic brain or spinal cord injury and share their personal testimony with students and community members to encourage practicing safety habits that may prevent a life changing injury. It is very important for our VIPs to attend our conferences and workshops to continue their training and to be included in all we do for the community.  Last year I was told that I could not take my VIPs to the conference due to a freeze on travel and conferences.  Thanks to a grant from SSPF our VIPs were able to participate in the conference after all.

As a result of experience he gained as a ThinkFirst speaker, Tony R. now has a full time job working with distance learning centers."
