As the global stem cell and regenerative medicine community’s flagship event, the World Stem Cell Summit is the largest interdisciplinary, networking meeting of stem cell stakeholders. The Summit brings together scientists, patients, advocates, business people, investors, educators, ethicists, policy makers, and government representatives from around the world.

With the overarching purpose of fostering biomedical research, funding and investments targeting cures, the Summit is the single conference charting the future of this burgeoning field. The program provides the research, industry, economic and societal context for understanding how all of the pieces of the stem cell puzzle fit together.

The agenda features more than 150 speakers and 50 hours of in-depth presentations. Supported by 200 sponsors, exhibitors, endorsing organizations and media partners, the Summit is a three-day showcase of innovation, insight and inspiration.

The Summit’s industry track, standing alone, is the largest stem cell business conference in North America with top leaders from cell therapy, biotechnology, tool, devices and pharma in attendance on a program covering in depth the issues pertinent to translating basic research into cures, including discussions on regulatory pathways, cell standardization, reimbursements, financing, venture capital and economic development.

The 2011 World Stem Cell Summit marks the 7th annual event produced by the Genetics Policy Institute. The Summit advances GPI’s mission to promote stem cell research and its application in medicine to develop therapeutics and cures for many otherwise intractable diseases and disorders. Past Summit partners and co-organizers include University of Michigan, Michigan State University, Wayne State University, Michigan Economic Development Corporation, Johns Hopkins University, University System of Maryland, University of Wisconsin-Madison, WiCell Research Institute, Harvard Stem Cell Institute, Stanford University and Baylor College of Medicine.
