Sam recently paid a visit to the Children’s TherAplay Foundation outpatient rehabilitation clinic for children with special needs, located located in Carmel Indiana. Their team incorporates the movement of horses in physical and occupational therapy sessions. Their mission is to provide children who have special needs a foundation for developing life skills through innovative therapies in a safe and caring environment including equine-assisted physical and occupational therapy....   more→

Rubicon Race Team, owned by Jim Freudenberg and Jason Priestly along with driver Max Papis, hosted a private party benefiting the Sam Schmidt Paralysis Foundation the evening prior to the 92nd running of the Indy 500. A special performance by the Barenaked Ladies thrilled the guests. During the festivities, Todd Davis, CEO of LifeLock, a Tempe, AZ based company that helps consumers protect their personal information against identity thieves, presented Sam Schmidt with a check for $30,000 to support the work and mission of the Sam Schmidt Paralysis Foundation....   more→

In 2008, the Sam Schmidt Paralysis Foundation is pleased to continue its tradition of hosting several “Day at the Races” events at racetracks around the country, including Florida, Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa, Tennessee, Kentucky and Illinois. See complete schedule of dates in the Events section of this website.At the various racetrack locations, SSPF collaborates with local rehabilitation centers and organizations for the disabled, including VA hospitals and veterans associations, inviting patients and members to attend a behind-the-scenes guided tour of the garage and pit areas, enjoy an opportunity to meet the drivers, and passes to view qualifications and actual races....   more→
