SAM SCHMIDT TO RECEIVE 2007 CURE AWARD
A note from Ida Cahill, President & CEO of the Sam Schmidt Paralysis Foundation

I want to share some very exciting news with you.

On September 9th, Sam Schmidt will receive a very prestigious award in Chicago from “Rally for the Cure” honoring him for all his work on behalf of people with spinal cord injuries, paralysis and other disabilities. It’s a wonderful honor and Sam is so pleased, as am I.

It is gratifying to see the persistent efforts of SSPF and Sam Schmidt acknowledged in this important way.

A great number of healthcare professionals and researchers believe that stem cells will prove to be a major resource in relieving many of the chronic illnesses and disabilities that plague our citizens. Their hard work, together with the advocacy efforts of all of us - including you, can make that happen!

Other “Rally for the Cure” honorees will include Dr. John Kessler of the Northwestern University Stem Cell Institute and Dr. Wise Young of the W.M. Keck Center. The event will also include an update on stem cell research by Drs. Young and Kessler.

If you plan to attend, please contact Nextsteps Chicago SCI Rehab, www.nextstepschicago.com.

If you would like to join me in expressing to Sam how proud we all are, you can make a donation in his honor to: Sam Schmidt Paralysis Foundation, PO Box 3661, Princeton, NJ 08543-3661.

Thank you for your support!
